How did Soul Fire Life come about?

I created Soul Fire Life shortly after I turned 24 years old. I had hit a wall in terms of what I felt inspired to do with my life and was feeling stuck, stagnant and restless.

I decided to revive my passion by creating a year long experiment, a self-created master’s program of sorts, in response to the question “if I was living my dreams and doing/studying what my soul felt on-fire to do, with people who inspired me (fed my fire), what would that look like?”

I was working with a life coach at the time and reading a book called Soul Fire that was about discovering what it feels like to live an inspired and passionate life, a “soul fire” life. And since that was what I was setting out to do, I decided to call my year-long experiment my “Soul Fire Life” school. Thus “Soul Fire Life” was born.

I gave myself permission to dream unimpeded about what I would like to do. In this way, I came up with my ideal “curriculum.” It would start with me studying permaculture and spiritual ecology in California with Starhawk. I would then study and become certified in Interior Alignment feng shui and Soul Coaching with Denise Linn, followed by a month at the School for Designing Society studying cybernetics and creative theatre. After that I would spend a month in northern Brazil learning Portuguese. Later in the year I would travel to Denmark to visit the experimental Kaos Pilot school along with the intentional community Cristiania. Finally I would spend five weeks in South Africa assisting a project to bring computers and HIV education to the largest shanty town in Cape Town.

And this is exactly what I did!

And the experiment was a success! Spanning four continents and five languages, I learned more about my life and gifts than any regular master’s program could have taught me because I was studying those things that fanned the flames of my passions with teachers who inspired me and in places where my soul came alive. And more importantly, because I actively chose and aligned with (not to mention paid for) every part of the experiment, I realized the power of the laws of manifestation along with the power of the coaching and interior alignment processes.

When I returned from my experiment, I evolved Soul Fire Life into the name of my interior alignment and coaching business. In this way I would be able to help others discover what living an inspired and passionate life – a Soul Fire Life – means to them through the coaching and feng shui training I have.

And my “Soul Fire Life” school continues to this day because I’ve come to see life as a school. As I continue to learn and apply universal laws of life through everyday experiences, I am able to choose what I will experience in life, much like a shaman, magician or alchemist. And though I continue to take formal courses, trainings and workshops to elevate my skill sets, it is the experiences I have in life and the learning of life’s practical wisdom that help me to integrate and expand as a spirit having a human experience.

What does it mean to live a Soul Fire Life?

Living a Soul Fire Life has a meaning that is personal to each one of us. Nevertheless, for me, my logo represents living a Soul Fire Life to me.

In the logo, there is a person who is merged with a flame. They are “on-fire,” in the sense of being filled with the passion of being “on-purpose.” This person has a lotus flower blooming in their heart-center. The lotus flower represents the passion, inspiration and desire of their heart and soul – who and what they are called to blossom into in this lifetime. I see this passion as “Soul Fire.” Soul Fire resides in the heart where Spirit (the Divine Energy, Fire, Animus) is said to reside. And when we quiet our minds and clear the noise of negativity from our beings, we are able to hear the wisdom of our Soul speaking to us, loving us and guiding us.

Living a Soul Fire Life means aligning mind, body and spirit to create space for soul.

And the soul loves the truth.
